Short-term rentals are in a transitional regulatory phase in Blairstown, NJ. As of November 2024, the township was actively developing formal STR regulations through the Land Use Board process. The approach being considered treats short-term rentals as commercial uses in residential zones, requiring registration, licensing, fire inspections, and zoning compliance. However, some board members have expressed opposition to STRs in residential neighborhoods while potentially supporting them in the Village section of town. The regulatory framework was still pending finalization and public discussion as of the last reporting period.
