Generally Investor friendly
Short‑term rentals are clearly allowed, investors just follow Kern County’s straightforward STR permit, annual safety inspection, and TOT process with typical fees (a few hundred dollars). No caps or quotas were cited and the county provides official contacts and guidance. The lack of city‑specific rules adds some uncertainty but does not materially deter investment.
