River Falls, WI

River Falls is a small city in western Wisconsin, situated primarily in Pierce County with a small portion spilling into St. Croix County. Home to approximately 15,000 to 16,000 residents, the city has the friendly, low-key character of a Midwestern college town, anchored by the University of Wisconsin–River Falls. It takes its name from the series of scenic drops along the Kinnickinnic River, which winds through the heart of town and lends the place much of its identity. Closer to home, the surrounding Driftless Area-like terrain of the western Wisconsin countryside rewards cyclists and scenic drivers with rolling farmland, bluffs, and small farm stands, while the St. Croix and Kinnickinnic rivers provide quiet opportunities for fishing, tubing, and canoeing.
