STRs are explicitly allowed but require a multi-step process: a county Conditional Use Permit, a town Tourist Rooming House Permit, health inspections, a public hearing, and a full-time Mercer resident agent. Fees are modest ($150/year) and there are no meaningful caps, making compliance manageable despite extra steps and local oversight.
