Short‑term rentals are allowed but require a county Tourist Rooming House license (including pre‑inspection) and city room‑tax registration with quarterly filings—moderate permitting and compliance steps. The licensing process is clearly defined, yet recent media reports of a new city ordinance create uncertainty and potential future restrictions that raise investor risk.
