Generally Investor friendly
Pottstown explicitly allows short-term rentals (STRs) with clear, codified definitions and citywide applicability, providing a straightforward legal framework. The permitting process, while involving annual registration, licensing, inspections, and a 5% hotel tax, is moderate in complexity and cost, with no caps on STR numbers or occupancy limits. The borough's supportive tone, detailed guides, and consistent enforcement through routine inspections and clear deadlines make compliance manageable for investors.
