Old Forge, NY

Old Forge is a small hamlet in the town of Webb in Herkimer County, New York, with a population of roughly 700 to 800 residents. Tucked into the western Adirondack Mountains, it carries the unofficial title of "Snowmobile Capital of the East" and serves as one of the most popular southern gateways into Adirondack Park. The village sits about 60 miles north of Utica and roughly 75 miles northeast of Syracuse, putting it within easy weekend-driving range of much of central New York.

The Enchanted Forest Water Safari is located right in Old Forge and ranks as one of the largest water theme parks in the northeastern United States. Its campus of galleries and historic buildings covers more than twenty-three thousand square feet of exhibit space devoted to Adirondack history, art, and outdoor life, and it draws visitors exploring the scenic byway that loops through the central Adirondacks.

Old Forge combines a walkable small-village core with a strong seasonal tourism economy, abundant lakeside and forest recreation, and quick access to one of the most popular corridors of the Adirondack Park.
