Salem Regulations

Salem explicitly allows STRs and keeps the license cost low ($25) with straightforward permitting, but a Conditional Use Permit is required for residential zones and a mandatory annual inspection adds steps. The biggest added burden is the 2% Dent County tourism tax which must be collected and remitted monthly to the county, increasing ongoing compliance. Overall the framework is manageable for investors.
